AEROBATICS IN THE "TEXAN"
Photos from the wing camera Warbird Adventure
I got to fly and do aerobatics in a Texan t-6 WWII flight trainer. Kim
surprised me with this one. She knew I had a private pilot license, and although I hadn't flown in many years, I
always enjoyed flying.

While you don't need any flying experience, you can get into the
aerobatics quicker if you know how to fly.
By regulation you must wear a parachute, and you're also strapped in
pretty well to keep you from floating out of the seat.
On each of the maneuvers Craig would fly it while I followed on the
controls, then I would do it with his voice coaching me.
We started with a mild "Wing-over" (I think he was checking to
see if I would need the barf bag). We then did a roll. That's like tipping over to one side
and you just keep going until you "Roll" over to the other side.
then a loop. a barrel roll. and a Cuban eight.
Check out the video to see instructor Craig's loop break-out
from the formation.
