Oregon

Devils Churn, Cape Perpetua scenic area

Over time the waves wore away the volcanic rock, creating the gap now known as the Devil's Churn. Located in the Cape Perpetua scenic area, the park is easily accesible off Highway 101.

The pounding, exploding waters of Oregon's Devils Churn are at their best during high tide and winter storms. At the Devils Churn you’ll find restrooms, an information station (summer only), coffee shop and wheelchair accessible viewpoint.

You can find more information about Devil's Churn at the Forest Service web site HERE

Below is the Devil's Punchbowl. During winter storms, waves smash with a roar into this hollow rock formation shaped like a huge punch bowl.
